So my kids and I are watching Get Smart and I forgot how much I love this show. There are some really cool props on this show. I would love to see what’s out there!

Here are some pics of my shoe phone.

A few years ago I had the chance to meet Barbara Feldon so I made up a replica of her CONTOL ID and had her sign it.
I also made a replica of Max's Control ID card for Sue Kessler who owns an accurate replica of Max's Alpine Sunbeam car. It was also made screen-used as Sue let them borrow it for the remake with Steve Carell.
Here also are just a few of the hundreds of props used on the show. Enjoy --Ed

Thanks guys. I was happy how it came out. I’m ready for a new one. I’m really liking the pipe phone. Thanks for all the pics Ed!! I appreciate it!

Loved this show as a kid, staying up late to catch re runs on Nick at Night. Such a hilarious show, who knew we'd have phones 100 times smaller than a shoe now lol.

I wish there was a parts list. I’ll tell ya what I did for each part.

Bought a dress shoe on sale
Used an Xacto knife to remove the sole
Cut thin aluminum, bent and glued to the bottom
Found an appropriate sized old speaker
Machined an an acrylic part to hole the speaker in place
Used brass eyelets
Bought a 1960s circuit board that fit the look
Used black pinstripe for details
Laser cut round disks and a sink drain for the speaker
Cut down a hinge and riveted to a piece of aluminum inside to make it rigid
Used a metal end cap towards the tow
Stripped with and twisted them together for the exposed wired and soldered them to the rivets
3D printed the insert for the dial to go in
Laser cut the dial and spacers and screwed it together
The solid looking round parts that I soldered to are just rivets that I filled with solder

I screwed and riveted everything I could to make it pretty durable. On the sole, I just cut off the heel, traced and cut a piece of 1/8” aluminum and screwed it on with a lock but so it could pivot. I thought about making it a latch so it could lock in place once turned but knew I’d just display it off so didn’t spend the time to do that.

Awesome shoe! I love Get Smart. One of my favorite shows of all time. I have a fairly extensive collection of vintage games, puzzles, and books from the show. No props, though.
