Ahead of the Scream Queen actress' 32nd birthday on Saturday, the Oscar nominee, best known for his roles in films like Gypsies and The Dark Knight, revealed he always knew she would become a star.
While speaking about the mother-of-one's latest film, Maybe I Do, the 67-year-old performer, who is releasing a memoir in September, declared the romantic comedy his 'favorite' project of hers yet.
Additionally, he proudly told Page Six that Emma his 'precious daughter' and said he wasn't surprised, at all, that she grew 'up to be all that and more.'

Emma is Eric's only child from his relationship with ex Kelly Cunningham and the actor – who is Julia Roberts' brother – is a stepfather to two children with his wife Eliza Roberts.
The Academy Award nominee also called becoming a grandfather the 'best job on the planet' besides acting.
He has four grandchildren, including Emma's son Rhodes, three, with her ex Garrett Hedlund, 39, between his three kids.
'Two of them live across the street, and I become whatever they want me to be… sometimes it's a cat, sometimes it's a dog,' Eric raved.
He continued: 'Whatever I have to be, I am. I love being a grandfather.'
Back in 2022, Eric said watching Emma's acting career has been 'so much fun.
'She's never had any training, so she's been on-the-job training her whole career, and it's been lovely for me to watch her become an actor, and she has. I love her work,' he told The Hollywood Reporter in 2022.
While Eric has amassed over 600 acting credits, he said he's finally slowing down 'a bit.'

The father-of-three revealed that he still gets '30 to 50 offers every day from all over the world.'
'I'm still doing it because it's fun. And I've seen the world for free… and I just have a great life,' Eric told Page Six.
Last month, Eric announced he would be releasing a new memoir about his prolific Hollywood career.
The upcoming book, titled Runaway Train: Or, the Story of My Life So Far, will cover his arrival in Tinseltown at the age of 17, his complicated relationship with his superstar sister Julia Roberts, and everything in between—including his struggle with substance abuse disorder.
The Expendables star is 'open about the seriousness of his addictions and their devastating effect on his career' in the memoir, according to a press release.

Eric's resume dates back to 1974, when he made his first appearance on the TV show 'How to Survive a Marriage.
He gained prominence with his breakout role in the 1978 film King of the Gypsies, earning a Golden Globe nomination.
Roberts then received critical acclaim for his role in Runaway Train (1985), securing an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor.
In the '90s, he continued to showcase his versatility in films like The Specialist (1994) and The Dark Knight (2008).
Roberts' career encompasses over 600 film and television appearances, solidifying his status as a respected and enduring figure in Hollywood.
Of course, a rumored rift with Pretty Woman star Julia has been one of the most talked about aspects of his wild Hollywood life.
However, in a 2022 interview with Behind the Velvet Rope with David Yontef, Eric dismissed rumors of a feud with the 55-year-old actress, claiming it stemmed from a misunderstanding from one awkward interview.

'Julia and I have always been fine,' The Dark Knight star told the podcast host, even though they have not been photographed together in decades.
'I think years and years ago I was doing a press tour for some movie. I don't even know what movie it was. And it was just when Pretty Woman just got released.
'And so they're asking a bunch of questions about Julia. And I said, 'Hey, excuse me. Can we talk about me?' I think I was very funny. And of course, then it's like, 'Oh, they have a problem. Oh my God, they have a problem.'
'And suddenly all these problems I keep hearing about I have with my sister that I don't have with my sister. And they're just popping up all the place,' he added.
The Mississippi native added, 'And I'm asked about them as if they're real issues. 'So what happened? And so and so and so and so. 'Oh, I wasn't aware of that.'

''And so all so now they're keeping a secret. So Eric won't talk about it.' So it blew up and blew up and became all these things it wasn't.
'And we don't agree on a lot of things,' Eric explained. 'My sister and I though, we've always talked, we've always bitched and we've always had fun knowing each other. Simple as that.'
Eric confessed in January 2018 that his past substance abuse did take a toll on his relationship with Julia and their sister Lisa.
'I wouldn't characterize it as a falling-out. I was crazy about my sisters. Loved them, adored them. They were precious to me, and we had times of great closeness,' he told Vanity Fair at the time, noting that his addictions took a toll on his loved ones.
'I was exhausting to be around: complainy, blamey, unable to enjoy enjoyment. Everyone in my world needed a break sometimes, and that must have included Julia.'
Nevertheless, their connection strengthened when Julia, alongside her husband Danny Moder, welcomed twins Hazel and Phinnaeus in November 2004, per Eric.
Since then, the two families have grown closer than ever before and Eric loves to see the similarities between Julia and his daughter Emma.
'[My daughter Emma and Julia] look so much alike that I love the pictures of them when they're side-by-side,' he told Us Weekly in 2020. 'They're both such Robertses. You know? It's really cool to look at them. I love seeing them together/'
